So Mr. Bruce Wayne, or rather his alter ego Batman, would go and face The Joker again? Alfred did wish that his employer would get some rest before he attempted something like that, but he had spent too many years in Mr. Wayne's service to hope that he would take the more sensible course when it came to someone like The Joker. And ever since the unfortunate death of Master Todd, both Mr. Wayne and the Batman had been increasingly difficult.

Still, he could not let Mr. Wayne go before he had all the information."Is there anything else, Alfred?" Mr. Wayne asked. They both knew, if there hadn't been other matters, Alfred would have disappeared by now.

"I took the liberty to speak briefly with your accountant concerning the fish company," he replied. "Birnbridge says they have shown an amazing profit since their recent change in ownership."

"Change in ownership?" Mr. Wayne seemed suddenly awake. "Now this, Alfred, is interesting."

Alfred almost wished he didn't have to tell his employer these things. "Sir, if I might make a respectful suggestion. Your invitation is not until the day after tomorrow. It is very late at night, and I imagine we could both do with some rest."

Mr. Wayne nodded impatiently. "You're right as usual, Alfred. Perhaps, after I go into the den and spend a moment with the computers---" He paused. "Oh. I suppose you did check on that license plate."

"Yes, sir. That was the final thing I had to tell you." And something Alfred probably should have told his employer immediately. He was letting his concern for Mr. Wayne color his responsibilities. "You'll find this most interesting. The license plate HA is registered to the Reverend Joey Droll."

Mr. Wayne turned and was gone, straight to his computer files.

Alfred knew that his employer would get no sleep tonight.
